Communications Toolkit

When the federal COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) expires, the County will start checking Medi-Cal beneficiaries’ eligibility for the first time since March 2020. HPSM providers and local community-based organizations (CBOs) will then play a vital role in educating their patients and clients about how to keep their coverage.

To make it easy for you to communicate effectively, we are providing ready-to-use downloadable digital resources (including a flyer, social media posts and website banners). Using simple, concise messages and bold design, these resources convey an appropriate sense of urgency without causing unnecessary alarm. They also provide a clear call-to-action explaining exactly what eligible Medi-Cal members must do to avoid losing their coverage.

The zip file includes Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog and Russian translations. Please use graphic files as they are: do not change the text, fonts, colors or images.

Flyer

This flyer explains exactly what Medi-Cal members must do to keep their coverage and how to update their information. You can print it on standard 8.5 X 11 inch office paper and post it on your office wall or hand it out to patients/clients.

Social media post

This social media graphic contrasts bold white text on an umber orange background to get people's attention without evoking a sense of emergency. You can post this graphic to your social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) with accompanying explanatory text. Here are two sample messages you can use as-is or edit to fit your organization's purposes:

Message 1

Has your address changed? Report changes at mybenefitscalwin.org (for fastest service) or call San Mateo County HSA at 1-800-223-8383.

Message 2

Did you get your renewal packet? Submit what you have now by mail or online at mybenefitscalwin.org. If you don’t have all the information now, you can send the rest later.

Website banners

These two website banners also address the two most important messages Medi-Cal members need to get once the PHE ends. You can hyperlink these banners directly to the HSA site where members can update their information (https://www.mybenefitscalwin.org/#/home).
