Dental Benefit Changes

Members under the age of 19 with “unsatisfactory immigration status”

Your full dental coverage with HPSM Dental will continue until December 31, 2026.

Starting January 1, 2027 you will have full dental coverage through Medi-Cal Dental Fee-for-Service until your 19th birthday.

What happens when I turn 19?

  • Your full coverage will continue with Medi-Cal Dental Fee-for-Service until June 30, 2027.
  • After July 1, 2027, you will be covered for emergencies only through Medi-Cal Dental Fee-for-Service. You may keep your full dental coverage with Medi-Cal Dental Fee-for-Service
    • If you are pregnant on July 1, 2027. This coverage will continue until one year after the end of the pregnancy. Learn more
    • If you were in foster care on your 18th birthday. This coverage will continue until you turn 26 years old. Learn more

To notify Medi-Cal about a new pregnancy, delivery of a baby or change in immigration status, contact San Mateo County HSA.
