Resources For Teens and Young Adults

If you are under 18, there are many ways you can start taking charge of your health. You can get some services without a parent’s or guardian’s permission, referral from a primary care provider (PCP) or preapproval from HPSM. This includes:

  • Pregnancy-related services
  • Family planning services
  • Abortion services
  • Sexual assault support
  • Sexually transmitted infections (STI) prevention and treatment
  • Drug and alcohol use treatment
  • Outpatient mental health counseling and treatment

To learn more about these services and how to get care, you can:

  • Schedule a regular check-up or call your PCP. They can help connect you to these services.

Don't have a PCP or don't know your PCP? Choose one or find out who they are.

  • Call HPSM Member Services at 1-800-750-4776 or 650-616-2133(TTY: call 1-800-735-2929 or 7-1-1.) Call center hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Search “minor consent services” in your Member Handbook.

HPSM can help you reach your health goals with wellness programs, services and general health information. Topics include teen health, diabetes, pregnancy, quitting tobacco, mental health and more. To learn more:
