On May 11, 2023 the federal government ended the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE). Going forward, HPSM members will continue to have access to COVID-19 services such as:

Vaccines Adults and children can still get COVID-19 vaccines and boosters at no cost. Learn more.

Testing HPSM members can still get tested for COVID-19 at no cost. They can get tested at their PCP’s office or a network pharmacy. They can also still get reimbursed for the cost of at-home tests. Learn more.

Treatment HPSM still covers medications (such as Paxlovid) for patients who are at risk of severe COVID-19. Learn more.

Telemedicine HPSM continues to cover telemedicine services for COVID-19 and other health care services. This includes phone and video-chat sessions. HPSM pays for telemedicine sessions at the same rate as in-person visits. Learn more.

TELL YOUR MEDI-CAL PATIENTS TO MAIL THEIR RENEWAL PACKETS NOW!
Most Medi-Cal members got a yellow envelope in the mail from the San Mateo County Human Services Agency (HSA) with forms that they must fill out and mail back to renew their Medi-Cal coverage. If your patients have not done this yet, they need to do it as soon as they can or their Medi-Cal coverage will end. Tell your Medi-Cal patients:

Turn in what they have now—even if it is not complete. They can send the rest later.

If they don’t have their packet or can’t find it, they need to call HSA at 650-295-3622. TTY: dial 7-1-1. HSA is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If they have sent in their packet, HSA will either confirm their renewal or ask for more information.
Medi-Cal members can sign up to get text or email alerts about their case by creating or checking their Covered California, BenefitsCal or MyBenefitsCalWIN account. They may also be able to submit their renewal or request information online at www.mybenefitscalwin.org.
