Well Visits for a Healthier You

Getting yearly checkups with your primary care provider (PCP) is important no matter how old you are. As an HPSM member, you get these yearly checkups, also known as well visits, at no cost.

No matter what your age, it’s important to have open conversations with your parents or guardians about healthcare. If you are 18 or younger, a parent or guardian still needs to come to your well visits. To respect your privacy and independence though, you and your provider may ask for some time alone to talk about sensitive topics. Everything you tell your PCP is confidential.

  • Need a ride to your well visit? HPSM’s Ride Benefit can help! Learn more.
  • HPSM Medi-Cal members who are 12 to 21 years old and assigned to a San Mateo Medical Center Clinic can get a $25 gift card for going to their well visit.
  • Stay healthy. Get vaccinated! Vaccines help protect you and those around you from getting sick. Ask your PCP which vaccines you need and when you need them. If you missed vac-cines in childhood, you may be able to catch up.
