Medicine benefits for Medi-Cal members are mostly managed by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) through the Medi-Cal Rx program. Medicines given to patients by providers in an office or clinic (PADs) are covered by HPSM. Some PADs need to be pre-approved by HPSM. See your Member Handbook for more information.
