Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Services
Quitting tobacco may be the best thing smokers can do for their health now and over the long term – no matter how long they have smoked or their age. If you have patients who smoke, you can help them quit. The first step is to identify tobacco users (both initially and annually) on the Staying Healthy Assessment (SHA). But there's a lot more you can do as a provider to help your patients kick the tobacco habit.
Use the resources below to learn how to treat tobacco use and the support services available to HPSM Medi-Cal members.
