As you begin the process of reopening your medical practices for office visits, the resources below are available to help you do so safely.

American Medical Association (AMA)

AMA Physician Practice Guide to Re-Opening

The AMA has developed a concise re-opening checklist and an in-depth guide. The resource guide includes a pre-visit screening script for your staff and an FAQ on privacy & confidentiality for COVID-19 information.

The American College of Physicians (ACP)

ACP COVID-19 Physician’s Guide

This guide is intended to help ambulatory practices resume care in the face of clinical uncertainty, limited evidence, and functional limitations (e.g., PPE availability).

This guide was developed based on the guidance of internal medicine leaders and feedback from ACP clinician members, and include the following:

  • Practice resources on staffing models, workflow modifications, testing strategy, an infection control checklist, and guidance on flexible, adaptable leadership and team based care.
  • Resources for patient communications, including templates, FAQs, and an infographic for when and where to seek care that you can print out or share with patients.
