If your doctor prescribes a medication that is not covered
If you go to the pharmacy to fill a prescription and the pharmacist informs you that your prescription is not covered:
- The pharmacy can call your doctor to change the prescription to a covered drug.
- If your doctor decides to not change the prescription, your doctor will ask the pharmacy to
submit a Medication Request Form to HPSM, to request coverage for the non-formulary drug.
